Green Friendly Homes Lot 1 in Norcross approved for potential LEED® Certification

Lot 1 has been approved for potential LEED® Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)! LEED® for Homes is a certification system that promotes the design and construction of high performance green homes. A green home uses less energy and water and fewer natural resources; creates less waste; and is healthier and more comfortable for the occupants. Check out the floor plan for "The Tranquil Oak" and call us at 678-745-4266 to talk about how we can build your new home as green LEED® certified.

McCloskey cabana completed

Our client in The Country Club of the South decided to have Green Friendly Homes re-design his backyard and build a cabana after completing his basement remodel. We also added new stone to the walls, veranda and pool area. And this new cabana has a full kitchen for outdoor entertainment. It looks fabulous!

Completed kitchen and backyard projects

Here’s a project we recently completed. Alex drew up the concept and plan for the backyard. The kitchen was completed in a short amount of time using low VOC paint and granite countertops...always GREEN FRIENDLY in some aspect!

Green Friendly Office Spaces

It’s all done! The finishing touches have been put on the Peggy Slappey Properties space and it is ready for occupancy. Definitely a job we are proud of!

One of the best parts of this job was making most of it green friendly! Our interior designer chose low VOC paints (Natura by Benjamin Moore) and we've used renewable resources throughout such as: bamboo for custom built furniture, silestone for the coffee bar counter and front desk, and 100% recycled chairs by Hermann Miller. We've also added energy efficient touches like Caroma dual flush toilets, touchless faucets and, of course, Energy Star appliances.

Custom-designed and built Plyboo furniture

We are currently building custom furniture for the Peggy Slappey Properties office at The Veranda at Fort Daniel. Most importantly, this furniture is made out of Plyboo – an FSC certified bamboo material that has no added formaldehyde. We like to “practice what we preach” when it comes to clean indoor air! The photo on the left are the mail cabinets while the other photo shows the coffee bar (countertops are being installed today). A few more photos are posted on the blog at www.rhodesdesigngroup.com.

Look for our ad!

This is an ad we've recently submitted to Country Club of the South’s neighborhood monthly newsletter Residents’ Review for April. Green Friendly Homes finished a current homeowner’s basement (pictured in the ad). We are in the process of designing the same resident’s outdoor living space that will include a cabana, a new landscape plan, and re-decking/ resurfacing the pool area. We’ll post photos of that project as we go!

Renovated Green Friendly Homes Kitchen

Here's a recently renovated kitchen for the Fejes family that Nick completed in one week while the family was away on vacation. In being true to our name, we used green friendly products such as no VOC Mythic paint, granite countertops, a natural slate backsplash with glass tile accents and Whirlpool Energy Star appliances. Instead of completely new cabinets, we designed new cabinet fronts and decorative detailing with glazing. Rebecca helped the owners with the new design for the whole kitchen and choosing colors, materials and pendant lights. Needless to say, the owners were VERY happy with their updated kitchen!
