Past Projects

Green Friendly Homes has been busy.  Too busy to keep up with our blog!  We'll have photos up of recent projects later this week, but today, we're reflecting on some of our favorite projects from the past.  Here's a few homes built by Caleb Rhodes before Green Friendly Homes began and also a few commercial projects that he had the pleasure of working on.

Green Friendly Homes in Gwinnett Business Journal

Gwinnett Business Journal posted a request on Facebook looking for sustainable companies in Gwinnett...and we answered the call! We were lucky enough to get some good press in the October 2010 issue that just came out this week. Although Green Friendly Homes was conceived before the notion of “going green” was a big hit, we are happy to be riding the wave with the rest of Atlanta. Give us a call to see how we can help you renovate your current home to “green” status or build your new home with green features.

A green friendly bathroom remodel

A totally remodeled bathroom in Country Club of the South... complete with a steam shower, wet sauna, 4-piece travertine HEATED FLOORS!!, custom-built cabinetry. Here’s the best part: to keep with our philosophy of green building, we used zero VOC paints, granite countertops and FSC-certified wood for the cabinets.

New outdoor living space!

Caleb recently completed this outdoor living space for a family in Alpharetta. On their completed wish list was a two-tiered brick and stone patio with a dining area and a fire pit. The kids even got something on they’d always wanted...a custom playhouse! With the Fall weather coming, it’s a perfect time to spend outdoors with the family.

Conversational Island

This Country Club of the South Kitchen has a true conversational piece, the island Granite. The large piece of granite came out of Brazil and measured 8' by 6'.... thats larger than most beds! A Thermador Range added to the kitchen by supplying the owners with commercial grade cooking power. Other aspects were the paneled refrigerator, oak cabinets and a custom island cabinet. During this project GFH also replaced their windows with Ultra Energy Efficient Low-E Marvin windows.

Clean Lines, Bright Light

A recent kitchen completed in 3 weeks in the Horseshoe Bend neighborhood (Alpharetta, Georgia).
Some of the kitchen's features include: Viking appliances, exotic granite and subway tile backsplash.

This kitchen has a "fresh clean" designAll of the selections chosen were to enhance the room's natural light. White cabinets, exotic granite and stainless steel appliances give this kitchen a breathe of fresh air

McCloskey cabana completed

Our client in The Country Club of the South decided to have Green Friendly Homes re-design his backyard and build a cabana after completing his basement remodel. We also added new stone to the walls, veranda and pool area. And this new cabana has a full kitchen for outdoor entertainment. It looks fabulous!

Completed kitchen and backyard projects

Here’s a project we recently completed. Alex drew up the concept and plan for the backyard. The kitchen was completed in a short amount of time using low VOC paint and granite countertops...always GREEN FRIENDLY in some aspect!

Green Friendly Office Spaces

It’s all done! The finishing touches have been put on the Peggy Slappey Properties space and it is ready for occupancy. Definitely a job we are proud of!

One of the best parts of this job was making most of it green friendly! Our interior designer chose low VOC paints (Natura by Benjamin Moore) and we've used renewable resources throughout such as: bamboo for custom built furniture, silestone for the coffee bar counter and front desk, and 100% recycled chairs by Hermann Miller. We've also added energy efficient touches like Caroma dual flush toilets, touchless faucets and, of course, Energy Star appliances.
