Basement renovations moving along

Here are some updated photos of the basement renovation we’re doing in County Club of the South. On the left is the theater room and the other photo is the soon-to-be kitchen. In keeping with being “green friendly,” we are using low VOC paints and stains for this project.

It's Green Friendly!®

Green Friendly Homes is introducing a new standard you’ll be seeing quite frequently: “It’s Green Friendly!” Simply put, you’ll see this logo on products we’ve used on our own projects that have provided great performance and live up to our company’s standards of “being green.” In addition to products we use, you’ll see this used on our floorplans and other designs.

Another Green Friendly Homes mark is “Certified Green Friendly®.” This will be in the form of a label seen on products in your new Green Friendly home...from the HVAC unit to the tankless water heater...these are tried and true quality products that we, at Green Friendly Homes, believe are in line with our mission statement of incorporating fresh designs, green friendly features and a healthier lifestyle.

Obama plots green jolt to the economy

In an article running in yesterday’s New York Times, President-elect Barack Obama is planning a green-jobs program that would include “the weatherizing of hundreds of thousands of homes” and “the installation of ‘smart meters’ to monitor and reduce home energy use.” To read the full article, go to http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28041978/.

Since its inception three years ago, Green Friendly Homes has been extolling the virtues of “greening” your home. With the current state of the economy and the oil crisis this past summer and fall, now is the perfect time to start taking advantage of the tax credits available and watch your electricity use spiral downward. From higher SEER HVAC systems to icynene insulation to tankless water heaters, Green Friendly Homes can help you upgrade your current home to greener standards. You can check out our Home Finishes link on our website to see some of our finished projects and a list of just a few of the optional green elements we can use on your remodel/renovation project.

If you are interested in a new home that is “green” from the ground up, check out our new home plans on our Projects page. Green Friendly Homes works with the U.S. Green Building Council and LEED for Homes during the planning phase of new homes to ensure we’re meeting their high standards for this green certification.
